Ken Shamrock vs Dan Severn -- UFC Superfight title
The UFC Superfight title was the predecessor to the UFC Heavyweight title, and the shot at the belt was usually earned by previous tournament winners. Ken Shamrock vs Royce Gracie was the first superfight, but despite Shamrock being on top, he could not finish the Brazilian legend within the 36 minute time limit. So the title was on the line in the second superfight, with Shamrock now facing the challenge of previous tournament champion Dan 'The Beast' Severn.
